Graeme Cumming - Group General Manager of Digital Media
With more than 10 years in the online media space, Graeme’s been involved with the development and management of some of SA’s most successful entertainment and e-commerce websites. The launch of Big Brother 1 remains a highlight of his career as it was – and is still considered one of the biggest cross-media productions in SA, bringing home and corporate networks to a standstill for 2 weeks following its launch. Graeme was also instrumental in the setup of DStv Labs, the division of DStv Online responsible for developing products and solutions that take advantage of emerging technologies. He is also an avid mountain biker and always on the lookout for new trails
Anna is a marketing specialist passionate about translating digital channels into real business value. She began her career with Apple IMC on a management graduate programme and went on to gain extensive international experience in a London-based agency. On moving back to South Africa, She joined MultiChoice and has been with the company for over five years. She is primarily tasked with marketing digital products and driving digital strategy for various group brands across the continent. In addition to her marketing role she also leads the digital insights team, driven by her passion for bringing ROI and measurement closer to marketing.
Nicolas Katsikides - General Manager: Finance and Operations
Nicolas has more than fifteen years of experience in the Pay TV, Mobile, Broadcasting and Digital Media industries in Africa. He has spent the last seven years in the Mobile TV business and has been a key player in the launch of DStv Mobile across the African continent. Prior to joining the Mobile TV business Nicolas spent 8 years in the MultiChoice DTH business; starting out in 1999 as finance manager of MultiChoice Botswana and then finance manager at MultiChoice Nigeria. From there he was promoted to the position of general manager of MultiChoice Tanzania where he spent 4 years. Nicolas brings a strong track record with vast experience in financial management, partnerships, marketing & communications and business development.
Phindi began her career with Anglo America as a graduate accountant and then went into software implementations and operations as a business consultant for Mercedes Benz and BMW. In July 2005 Phindi joined ADP dealer services where she developed a passion for customer care; she was instrumental in setting up the UK support smart shoring multi-disciplined team for ADP. She joined DStv Mobile in 2009 as customer support manager and worked her way up to her current role. To date, she has been part of a team responsible for launching BoxOffice in various African countries and undoubtedly forms one of the highlights of her career.
Rhys Johnstone - General Manager: Portals
Rhys is a graduate of Henley Business School and joined MultiChoice in 2010 as Managing Editor of dstv.com. Previously he headed up digital for Independent News and Media. As GM for Entertainment Portals and EPG, Rhys heads up a team of product and content specialists who create and manage the digital properties for MultiChoice, DStv, GOtv and M-Net. Rhys’s team also manages the Electronic Programme Guide, which is at the heart of content discovery across MultiChoice’s set boxes, websites and applications.
Nyameka is a vibrant Human Resources professional with years of experience in various aspects of human resources including, industrial relations, change management and social human resources – the process of integrating social technologies into an organization to recruit, develop & engage employees.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and an Honours degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of South Africa.
She previously held the position of HR Business Partner and is currently the Human Resources GM at DStv Digital Media, a pan-African technology intense organisation dependant on breakthrough technology in a scarce skills environment.
Nyameka thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys the autonomy of the human resources function.
